Shameless Persistence

Luke 11:8-10 = "But I tell you this - though he won't do it for friendship's sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence. And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened to you."

Whether we realize it or not, it is our shameless persistence and pursuit of God that gets His attention and brings the answer/solution we are looking for. As Jesus makes it clear here, when we keep on asking, seeking and knocking we will eventually receive, find and see the door opened to us. I guess this brings to life the saying I've heard for much of my life; "Keep on keeping on..."

Think about it this way: How many times have we finally give to people the things they were looking for and wanted because we were annoyed by them and wanted them to leave us alone? They same is kind-of true with God minus being annoyed by us pursuing Him. He actually enjoys our pursuit of Him. 

Is God deaf and dumb to our needs and desires? NO!!! But I do believe that it is our shameless persistence that shows God how much we depend on Him and not ourselves. So there is hope. Keep on asking and you will eventually receive. Keep on seeking, and you will eventually find what you are looking for. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
