Advancing the Kingdom

Over this past week my wife and I have been on vacation with her family. We have had a wonderful time.

During this time, I have been reading a book by Bill Hybels called axiom. In this book Hybels posses a question that really caught my attention and made me start thinking about my calling and ministry. "What would we do to advance the kingdom of God if there was nothing to stop us from ding it?"

For those that are in the ministry this is a power question. What would we do to build God's kingdom if there was nothing holding us back? What would we do if there was nothing hindering us? What would we do if there was nothing telling us NO?

What we have to realize is that if we are that passionate about accomplishing something for God and building His kingdom we need to realize God will give us the resources and strength to bring it to pass. All great things that build the kingdom started from a passionate vision.

I was also reading recently where Jesus was talking to His disciples telling them the harvest is ripe but the workers are few. I believe time is short and if God has birthed something in you to further His kingdom, go for it.

That is exactly what Hybels was saying on page 136 of his book when he says; "Friend, it's as green as it's gonna get in our world. The doors are open, the path is clear, the harvest is huge, and the time to act is now. I believe God is looking to pour out his favor on those who are hopping out of bed each morning ready to further the cause for His glory."

I agree completely with Hybels here. The time to act is now. The harvest is ripe and plentiful. We need to do all we can to reach all we can for the glory of God. Don't let anything hold you back. With God at the helm, all things are possible.
