What Goes Around Comes Around

Esther 7:9 - 10 = "Then Harbona, the king's eunuch, said, 'Haman has set up a sharpened pole that stands seventy-five feet tall in his own courtyard. He intended you use it impale Mordecai, the man who saved the king from assassination.' 'Then impale Haman on it!' the king ordered. So they impaled Haman on the pole he had set up for Mordecai, and the king's anger subsided."

Ever heard the saying, what goes around comes around? This is a case in point with the story of Haman. The destruction he had planned for Mordecai, he actually received himself.

When we purposely set out to destroy good people God has a way of coming to their rescue and turning that destruction around on us. We must guard our motives and watch the intent of our hearts when it comes to dealing with other people.

We must always keep pure motives with people even when we don't agree with them or necessarily like them. There are two principles to be learned from the life of Haman that Jesus teaches us in the New Testament:

1. The Law of the Harvest: "You reap what you sow..."
2. The Golden Rule: "Do to others as you would want them to do to you."

If we live by these standards we will not kill ourselves prematurely by seeking others destruction and downfall.
